The Bernie Mac baseball
movie "Mr. 3000," shot at Miller Park, and the just-released period
drama "Red Betsy," filmed in Delafield, are two high-profile films
recently made in the Milwaukee area. But many other films have been and are
being made by local filmmakers using local talent. Here are a few that may
have escaped your notice.
"Wishtaker" Short film about people who make wishes as they
toss coins in an old fountain in the middle of a park. By Milwaukee-area filmmakers
Joe Spang and Carlo Besasie, from a screenplay by Ryan Plato. Produced by
Frank Datzer and Becky Banks. With Mark Metcalf, Jeremy Beiler, Carrie Hitchcock.
Status: Photography completed in August.
